The larva have color variations from green to brown that contain dark brown grey lines with lateral white lines on the body with dark and pale bands. The larvae feed on the foliage and buds. Adult pest contains v shaped speck on the fore wings and black border on the back wings. Effected plants contain irregular feeding holes on the leaves. Management: Gram pod borer can be managed by deep summer ploughing and sowing red gram as an inter crop between 5-6 rows.
